Youth First Aid Course; 14-17 year olds
This one-day course for Youth sailors only aged between 14-17 years old. It covers the same principles as the adult course learning the basics of resuscitation, dealing with unconscious casualties, hypothermia, bleeding and shock.
Upon completion each Youth Member will be awarded a full RYA First Aid Certificate.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
As with all Youth Training sessions, parents must stay on-site for the duration of the course or assign their child an on-site guardian.
The course is an 8 hour course, with a 30 minute lunch break, please ensure your child brings a packed lunch, drinks and snacks for the day.
The course will take place at Lobster Quay classroom. Please arrive at 8:50pm ready to start promptly at 9am. The course runs until 5.30pm.
Children should dress in suitable clothing, preferably trousers and clothes that are old but warm, as there may be practical sessions in the dinghy compound.
Bring a life jacket or buoyancy aid and a pen.
A RYA First Aid Manual will be supplied at the start of the course.
